Gwen yawned, gently rubbing the sleep from her eyes before rolling over onto her side to stare at the small electric alarm clock on her bedside table; 7:13am. In most usual circumstances, the brunette would’ve gone back to sleep in a heartbeat, but unfortunately she had to be at work early. Groaning slightly, she sat up and swung her legs off the bed, briefly stretching as she stood up.
Living with an old, persnickety cat and a half-mad owl did have its perks, as the flat was relatively quiet when she wandered down the hall and into the main portion of her flat. Indira, (her owl), was making soft hooting noises as she slept, and Russell, (her cat), was conspicuous by his absence. Yawning again, she continued forward into the kitchen and looked around, trying to remember what she was supposed to be doing. Right, breakfast. After a quick scan of the kitchen cabinets and fridge, Gwen soon came to the conclusion that aside from a half-empty bag of owl treats and a few cans of cat food, there was absolutely nothing edible to eat. “I really need to stop putting off that grocery shopping…” She muttered under her breath, mentally cursing herself as she turned on the coffee pot. What with all the recent events, she hadn't had much time to go grocery shopping.
The coffee pot dinged a few minutes later, and with another smile Gwen jumped up onto the counter, sitting rather comfortably as she poured the steaming liquid into her favorite cup. She had only just taken a sip when a loud bang echoed around the flat, signaling that someone had arrived through the floo network. It was a flaw that the owner of the flat had pointed out to her when she had first started renting the place, but she hardly minded. The loud noise meant that she knew whenever someone stopped by, and what with all the dangers that were suddenly sprouting up, she'd began to appreciate it even more than she had previously.
Frowning slightly, Gwen jumped off the counter, landing lightly on her feet before creeping towards the living room, her right hand gripping her wand, and her left holding her now forgotten coffee. There was only a slim chance that it was someone unfriendly, but as her father had taught her, it was never worth taking the risk. With only a slight hesitation, she walked into the small space, cautiously calling out, “Hello?”

Things had become unsettling to deal with in these days. Harry Potter had been killed, his daughter missing. It had been a month since Lily had been gone missing, taken more than likely by whoever murdered her father. If there was one auror looking for her endlessly, it was definitely the only son of Remus and Nymphadora Lupin. As a member of the DA, he knew that the two leaders were at odds, their motives not aligning. They both were looking for the people that had murdered Harry and tortured the Malfoys. He knew that, of course. James Potter would have looked for his sister, no doubt. It may not have appeared that way to some since she had not been found yet, but Teddy knew that was what James was doing. Except his efforts weren't as well thought as they should have been. Mainly due to Scorpius' influence on some things. Not seeing much accomplished, Teddy had taken it upon himself to look for Lily. His attempts hadn't turned anything up, but he was bound to get farther than his 'younger' brother had. His attempts were beginning to practically consume most of his time. Being an auror, it was common for them to look for missing people when it came to the current days. However, more than a month could have meant that the person was dead. Efforts would've been lowered as the chances of a dead body showing up, would have increased. It was common in any law enforcement, muggle world or wizarding world. Speaking of his job, his boss had become Gwen Shacklebolt. The two were always considered the best aurors as they rose from training to becoming aurors under Harry Potter. Obviously as the godson of Harry, he tended to be more trusted by Harry than Gwen in their assignments. Though as the daughter of the minister, she certainly was not left behind on any assignments. It was believed to be between them for the head auror spot after Harry's death, the spot being given to Gwen. The two had known each other since Hogwarts, being competitive in everything that they could be competitive over. Wizard Chess? Competitive. Who could finish dinner the fastest? Competitive, if they locked eyes with each other. In their years at Hogwarts, he was the prankster that she had to put up with. At one time, he had figured out the riddle to the Ravenclaw common room which resulted in him leaving a whoopy cushion in her bed that screamed like a banshee when she had laid down. He had left a note indicating that it was from him, not wanting anyone to take credit for what he had accomplished. During their training as aurors, that tension had only grown between the two which resulted in a one night stand. Despite what took place, none of the love/hate between the two was destroyed. Their relationship had stuck as it had always been, only with Teddy referencing sometimes that mistake of hers as a joke at times. Having dealt with Gwen long enough, he knew that her home had a place where floo powder allowed anyone to pop up at her home. He unfortunately took this as a chance to bother her whenever he wanted except for today, he was not there to bother her. Instead, he had seen a owl crumpled on his desk from about a week, asking for the two to talk. It had taken him a week to read it since he had been looking for Lily. It was rare for him to be seen at the ministry recently as he had been looking for any leads to Lily. It was understandable since the last time that they had seen each other, the two had kissed. Not something that anyone had expected since they figured him to marry Victoire eventually or to remain just sleeping with any woman that he wanted. Having used floo powder, he appeared in the fireplace of her living room. Much like his equal in terms of cautiousness, he had out his own wand. It wasn't necessary before, but with everything that had happened, it was necessary. He stepped out of the fire place as Gwen walked into the room, calling out before she even appeared. Teddy brushed off his shoulders as she appeared and asked, "Hello? Usually you remain quiet until the intruder says something. You say something and it alerts them that you're just waiting to be found, gives them a direction to go in." He lowered his wand as he walked past her into the kitchen, taking out a cup from the cabinet to fill coffee into it. Normally coffee wasn't his choice of drink, but after spending a good amount of time out, he found it necessary to drink it. So many things were becoming necessary, things that didn't matter before. Teddy turned around at the counter after he had filled up a cup. Having taken a sip, he placed it on the counter and asked, "So, what did you want to talk to me about?"
