For once in what seemed like a very long time, Jessica was reading a text book. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy reading, but she always seemed to find something much more entertaining than required reading. Something about Quidditch or a fun fantasy book was always just much more appealing. But she really did need to get the chapter in Charms read before class and she was just almost done. Just a few more paragraphs and... what was that she smelled? She looked up, a big mistake, and her eyes locked on a freshly baked pile of cookies. Maybe reading in the Great Hall hadn't been the best idea that she had ever had. In fact, it might have been the worst. Her mouth watered a little at the thought of the cookies just lying there waiting to be eaten, even if she already had eaten enough of her lunch to last throughout the day. Or at least, it would have been for a normal person. Jessica always seemed to be hungry. Maybe it was because she burned off so many calories running around. Well she did have to stay in some sort of shape for Quidditch, especially if she was planning on winning it all this year. It was her last year, she needed the win. With a sigh, Jess gave in and took a cookie. Chocolate chip... And there's an entire plate... I'm in trouble. the blond girl thought.

There wasn’t anything Dominique loved more than food; well her love for quidditch definitely beat it but food was a close second. When she wasn’t on the pitch or hanging out in her dorm she was in the great hall eating something. She didn’t really care for fruit or vegetables (her mother constantly scolded her for that) but would eat them if nothing good was around. Today she was walking along the Ravenclaw table looking for something good to eat. Nothing grabbed her attention and her sweet tooth was telling her not to grab an apple. So her search began at the other house tables. Dom knew that being in Ravenclaw meant that she was supposed to sit at her table but with family in almost every other house she felt like she had the right to sit there; especially at Gryffindor, which was practically a synonym to Weasley. And as she passed by the Gryffindor table her eyes spotted a plate of cookies that had just shown up. Bless those house elves, Dom thought as she took a seat across from the plate of cookies while she grabbed one. “What’s up Wood?” She asked the Gryffindor quidditch player. The two of them were pretty good friends when they were off the Pitch so this was normal for them. Except Jessica usually wasn’t a reading a book that didn’t relate to Quidditch. “I’m sure whatever you are reading doesn’t have the answers to beating Ravenclaw this year.” Dominique teased lightly. She was captain this year of course she had confidence in her team.

Oh how he loved being a NEWT student... the time off. The ability to relax when all the younger kids were meant to be in class. And well there was no better way to do so than in the Great Hall! He made his way down there, the Head Boy badge displayed proudly upon his chest as he took a seat on the other side of Jessica. He wore a hoodie and jeans, another perk to being out of class for there was no need to be in his uniform yet, and wore a cheeky smile.
"Careful Jessica or you may have to give yourself extra laps at our next practice"
Jessica would know that he was of course joking. They were good friends after all. They had known each other since their first year. He then noticed the other person that she sat with. All of a sudden he was wondering how she had taken his comment about the extra laps. Did she think that he was calling his Quidditch Captain fat? How could he find out without directly asking her? Then he realized just who it was. Oh this would be fun. This would be more than fun.
“Hi by the way… I’m Atticus Longbottom… who are you?”
There was a twinkle in his eyes. The same sort of twinkle that only really appeared when he teased his girlfriends. It was something most people didn't pick up on until they had actually dated.

Reading was actually something Jessica liked doing, but she wasn't particularly fond of reading for the purpose of studying. There was a reason she hadn't been sorted into Ravenclaw. She just wasn't the studious type, though she could buckle down when the situation called for it. Mostly, she just tried to keep her grades up so she could stay on the Quidditch team. It just wouldn't do for the Gryffindors to lose their captain. Speaking of captains, as Jess took the cookie she noticed that the one for Ravenclaw had approached. “Oh you can totally count on losing this year, Weasley.” Jessica joked. Well, sort of joked. She had no intention on losing. This was going to be Gryffindor's year. They had a great team and she was going to make sure they played as well as they could. “But you're right, it doesn't have any playing tips. Unless you're afraid I'm going to charm your broom so it's slippery before next game.” She closed her book as someone else joined them. Jessica laughed a little. “Maybe I should make you run extra laps just for saying that,” she teased. He was right though, she really should think about cutting back on the sweets, but her weight pretty much stayed constant so she didn't think she had too much to worry about. “Oh, this is Dominique. She's captain for Ravenclaw. Catch the snitch before she does, 'kay?” The blonde girl grinned and took a bite of her cookie.

The cookies were delicious as always and Dominique knew right away that she picked a good choice of taking a seat here. She would have to speak the house elves and remind them to put cookies like this out at the Ravenclaw table. Gryffindor shouldn’t get everything good in life and plus cookies were good brain food. And the Ravenclaws were definitely the brainiacs of the school. “You guys don’t stand a chance against my team anyways.” Dominique said as she took another bite of the cookie. Her team was good but the win always came down to her to catch the snitch. And there was no way the Gryffindor seeker was going to catch it before her. “No one touches me broom besides me. And if anyone ever tried to jinx it they would find themselves in a bit of a predicament.” Dominique said with a smile. The only class she excelled in was charms so of course she protected the one thing she loved most; her broom. She looked up when someone else spoke and wasn’t surprised at all to see Atticus. She was sitting at the Gryffindor table so he should be hanging around here. “I actually think you should have another. They are delicious.” Mini said pushing the plate towards her friend with a teasing smile. Jess had nothing to worry about and it wasn’t like a few cookies were going to do anything to her figure. “And I’m Snow White. Stop being a smart arse you tosser.” Dominique said smiling at him. “Jess you should make him run laps. Lots of laps. He knows who I am.” She told the female Gryffindor still smiling a bit that Atticus tried to fool Jess into believing he didn’t know Dominique.
