Dahlia Nott. She'd been in her first year at Hogwarts, while Alaric had been in his seventh and final year when they had been at school together. Alaric had liked to pull many pranks, not caring who the target was, and Dahlia had been one of the very unfortunate victims. So they hadn't exactly been on the best of terms at first. Not that it really bothered Alaric. He was an asshole at most times and didn't really care too much for the emotions of a female. He just liked to charm them and get what he wanted out of it. He believed he could charm any girl he wanted. But Dahlia had been far too young when they'd known each other. He charmed her. A seventeen year old complimenting and making an eleven year old feel special, it was part of the game for Ric. She was far too young for Ric to go along with anything. She must have started to fall for his charming behavior though, because she started to like him enough to stop hating him. Then even after Ric had graduated and left, pursuing his career as a dragonologist while working as an employee at Zonko's, he had kept in contact with her. They'd even dated for a little while. A short while though because as usual, Alaric couldn't deal with commitment of relationships. He'd also caught far too caught up in his dragonology. He left, his work with dragons taking him away from contact with anyone for a long while.
A few months ago he'd returned, visiting his mother, sister and nephew, only to have his sister go missing and murdered. Alaric had had a close relationship with her, so it crushed him to lose her. That was when he decided to take care of her son. Alaric was currently chilling at the Three Broomsticks, waiting for the young student to hurry up and join him. He'd left one of his trustworthy employees to close up shop once it was closing time. Alaric had been working too much and too hard so he didn't need to close up one night. Drinking a firewhiskey, Alaric sat and waited. Soon as Dahlia arrived, they'd probably get ready to go so that Alaric could pick up his nephew from Ric's mother's. Ric preferred having Malekai with him. The relationship with Ric and his mother had gotten pretty rocky. Ric leaned back in his chair, his firewhiskey almost empty as he looked around at all the faces around the pub. "Come on, D." WORDS; 425 . TAG; DAHLIA NOTT NOTES; just wanted to get this going! cbf waiting til owl finished haha >< <3 also i know it's been posted in london, but the three broomsticks is the starter place and they'll be at ricky's after xP :3

Quickly, Dahlia gathered just about everything and anything that she possibly could. It had been years since she had last physically seen Alaric, and honestly- she was tense. Ever since their last split, Dahl had forcefully pushed herself to stay away from a quill and parchment for the temptation still laid heavily in her mind. He had made it perfectly clear that he had wanted nothing more to do with a relationship - she understood fully. But, being as he was her first actual kiss and whatnot, she still held feelings for him. Some that she had no choice bit to shove into the back of her wandering mind; And, yes. She would be the first to actually admit that she had purposely sent him that letter blaming it solely on her poor defenseless bird. All she wanted was his attention. She was to know that he still lived and was willing to make something work. A friendship? something! She couldn't stand not hearing from him every week like she had used to- always running to check if she had received a letter or something. And as time had went on, Dahlia had learned to stop herself. She couldn't keep hanging on false hope only to bring them down.
Traveling down the long path, Dahlia had spotted the Three Broomsticks in sight. A small lump formed in the back of her throat as she looked it over a couple of times. "And here we are..." Letting out a heavy sigh, she continued forward keeping her eyes on that old broken down door. It was only a matter of moments later that she found her hand draped around the handle and pushing it back. The place was slightly packed. A few drunkards eyeing her and Dahl stepped through to glance around -- There off to the side sat Alaric- handsome as always. Pulling her bag up and over her shoulder, she slowly slipped behind the sitting man gently placing her chilled hands over his eyes. A bright smile radiated as she took in that familiar scent. Dahl leaned in slowly placing her lips next to his ear. "Guess who..."

Sighing, Alaric looked at the time. Dahlia should be here soon. Alaric had finished and arrived at the Three Broomsticks a little earlier than he had planned. He had had a long, busy day. New products for the Joke Shop had arrived so Ric had come a lot earlier than his usual time to organise and arrange everything. As much as Ric loved working at Zonko's, he couldn't wait to just get home and chill. He would leave here with Dahlia, get his nephew and go home where his first job was probably to feed the baby dragon he was currently taking care of. He recently came into possession of a dragon egg, which he decided to care for and study. In all his years as a dragonologist, he'd really only dealt with eggs or adult dragons, never ones that had just newly hatched from their eggs. He'd never really had a chance. He'd been too busy controlling bigger and scarier and more dangerous dragons to worry about little baby ones. But now he had the chance, and it was a fascinating experience. Of course, the tricky part was keeping Malekai away from her. The toddler had a fascination for the baby dragon, which would cause trouble if she tried to set him on fire. So constant supervision was always required whenever the two were near each other. Thankfully, Ric's husky dog, Colton, was very protective towards Malekai, so kept him away from the dragon. It was definitely interesting in Ric's house.
Downing the last of his firewhiskey, Alaric sat impatiently. He probably shouldn't have been, it was his own fault he was here so early, but it was just how he was. Alaric could be impatient and it definitely caused a fair number of problems for him from time to time. That was then when his vision went dark as fairly cool hands suddenly were covering his eyes. He said nothing and waited as he felt breath at his ear as a female voice spoke. A smirk formed across his lips as his hands went up to hers on his face, pulling them away from his face as he turned his head and looked at her. Dahlia had always been stunning, but it had definitely surprised him how she looked after so long. He gave her one of his charmingly seductive smiles as he looked at her. "Oh, well, you're not who I was expecting. Who are you again? Can I help you, sweetheart?" He teased. It was usually the sorts of comments that resulting in the girl attempting to punch him. Of course, it was very rare for a girl to cause any pain to him, he was used to having punches thrown at him, so a few playful weak girly punches weren't really going to do much. WORDS; 470 . In all honesty, Dahlia had waited for this moment for what had seemed like a lifetime. She hated admitting it, but, she missed the tall dark-haired boy. She missed his crude humor and his obnoxious behavior. Although -from the letters she had received- Alaric had grown up quite a bit, taking care of his nephew and whatnot. It was... precious. Never would she have thought of him becoming any sort of father figure; let alone someone who had even adored children. -- As soon as his hands touched hers, Dahlia felt a small flutter in the pit of her stomach; that touch - She smirked at his voice and his joking tone. "Ahh, there is one thing about you that hasn't failed to change." Dahl allowed her hands to fall to her hips hugging them tightly. That smile... Those eyes... It was obvious them man hadn't changed much. Age didn't seem to be much of an issue for the Greyback child - he was still just as she had remembered -if not, just a tad bit more toned in the upper arms. All in all, he was still close enough to the same Alaric that she had known a couple years back; always wearing that smile.
As a sort of instinct, Dahlia quickly embraced him in a friendly hug. Her face pressing against his. "So.... Hopefully I haven't changed too much." She spoke brightly, still wearing a smile as usual. For some reason she couldn't shake it- Dahl hadn't been this happy in weeks. "And sorry for keeping you waiting."

Dahlia had always been someone that Alaric could get along with. Well, usually. Sure, the two did have their bickering moments, mainly because Alaric would say something and be a complete asshole and Dahlia would get mad and then an argument would break out. Of course, it was generally Ric's fault. It was just how his personality was. He said something that another person would take in offense or whatever and then there'd be a disagreement and a fight. Ric didn't care either, which probably didn't help the matter in the slightest. Needless to say, Ric and Dahl had definitely had their fair share of arguments. Ric liked to stir Dahlia up, it was all about getting a reaction to him. Was he ever going to change? Who knew? Only time could tell really. He was twenty four years old and still classified that as young. People wasted too much time deciding to mature at a young age, but Ric couldn't really understand why they'd want to. Youth was important and your childhood was not something to be wasted, thrown away and forgotten. Alaric was going to hold onto his youth for as long as he could and he didn't care if people judge him for it. He knew never to take anything anyone said to or about him to heart. He was a Greyback after all. If he took anything that people said to or about him to heart, then he would be a very lonely, depressed, if not angry and violent being. He would probably be his fathers son after all and that was not something majority of the wizarding community, as well as all the muggle community, would want.
Grinning from ear to ear, Alaric looked at her, his white teeth flashing. "Don't deny it's one thing you're glad hasn't changed. You love it really." he said, his head tilted slightly as he looked at her. It seemed good that after so long of being out of contact, they were able to act so casual with each other, like old times. Even with the fact that they had dated at some stage, they were still on good terms. It was a strange thing for Alaric though. He wasn't usually someone that did manage to be on good terms with girls he had had history with. Dahlia was one exception. But there was always a first for everything. Smirking, Alaric winked at her. "I dunno, sweetheart. You're looking a little pudgier then I remember. Have you put on weight?" he said, chuckling. Of course, he was completely joking. It was just more of his stirring to get a reaction. It never failed to entertain him. He then shook his head. "Oh no, it's not me you should apologize to. You're going to have to beg forgiveness to my nephew. He's stuck at his grandmothers, probably getting tortured. All alone. Poor kid. He's been waiting to come home. Shame on you, Miss Nott." A part of Dahlia could not believe that she was standing in the same room with a man who had wanted nothing more to do with her labeling the young Slytherin girl as childish and young. But, she was far from that now. Her maturity level peaking with every waking moment of her life as she had realized it was time to grow up- time to stop fantasizing and come to the real world. She was no longer a child anymore and couldn't live a day to day basis wishing and hoping things would get better; that her father would no longer live his purist ways and that he would accept her friendship with whomever it may be. Dahlia was growing tired of being told what she could and could not do. She was seventeen, bound to be eighteen, and ready to enter the reality of life. And the last thing on her mind at that point in time was an arranged marriage her father had sought for. She was content and wasn't about to have her father ruin her life with one snap of a finger. -- She couldn't quite think of any of that now. Dahl had other things to focus on. Alaric.
Alaric Greyback was what had mostly kept her mind on a setback. Yes, the two had only dated for a short period of time, but she hated how that one had ended. She was no child now, but blossoming into a proper -somewhat- young woman. no longer was she the young child he had known a couple years back. She had changed. And the though of not having Alaric in her life, even as a friend, tore her apart. And now, he too was maturing. Taking in a small child that isn't his own and raising it responsibly- not to mention taking on a whole new life and working for the two. Dahlia could hardly believe it; she remembered the cocky Greyback she had known before. Always slinging comments her way that were somewhat offending or not. Either way, she had learned to cope and deal with it all. It wasn't as bad as what she and her siblings had gone through. - "Of course. I have missed it terribly." Dahlia chuckled as she wrinkled her nose slightly, trying to hold back the urge to give him a soft playful punch. "Just as you have missed my quirks?" She allowed a bright cheeky smile to slip through. Everything about him had brought back many memories. Some that she had held dearly. He, unlike others, was the first to see past her name and get to know her without any sort of judgment. Unlike her father, she didn't quite believe in his ignorance. Equality was best.
Furrowing her brow, she perked her top lip and began to glance herself over. Pudgy?! Keeping herself collected as usual, she sensed a bit of playful harassment. Oh, how that never seemed to get old - raising her shirt, Dahl grabbed hold of what she had considered Pudgy and gave it a small shake. "Mmm. I guess you could say I have. But, it looks absolutely stunning." Poking him in the gut, she chuckled. "And I can see taking on a parental role has also caused you to pack on some, huh?" Dahl teased back, knowing damn well he hadn't gained a pound. Only pure muscle. It was... Very nice. But, she couldn't tell him that! - Letting out a soft sigh, she looked at the time. "Ohh, poor guy! I will make sure I do apologize to him and perhaps give him this." Reaching into her bag of goodies, Dahl flashed a small bag filled with candy and a couple things that would keep him completely occupied. It was always nice when thinking on your toes came in handy. "Would you like for us to get him now? So then he can stop waiting and finally be home?" This would be her first time ever meeting the boy. But, she wasn't about to let Alaric down again. And she surely couldn't leave the poor child waiting impatiently. "Or is your mother bringing him by? I just don't want her to completely loose it if she sees me with you. Merlin only knows what she would do if she found out I was the spawn of Theodore Nott." Dahlia couldn't help but chuckle. A spawn? Really?

The death of Alaric's sister had shaken him. What was worse was that he hadn't been around to protect her. It was at the time where his Dragonology career had taken off and he was sent off around the world, controlling different dragons that were creating problems in certain countries of the world. Alaric had spent years studying dragons and was one of the best to be able to handle any dragon he came across. So he had left. Left his family behind, only to come back to find out that his sister was killed. Many people were being murdered around the country, Ric had never once considered that his little sister would be one of them. Ric's mother never fully forgave him for leaving, but she'd never truly loved him as much as he had before he was taken by Fenrir and turned into a werewolf. He'd finally managed to be free from his father, only to come back and have his mother never treating him the same. He only had his sister, and a few of his half siblings. So losing his sister had been hard, which was why he felt he needed to take in Malekai, for his sisters sake. They had been close and Ric was going to do what he couldn't do for his siter, be there to look after his family. His mother wasn't extremely keen on the idea, not with his condition, but Alaric wasn't stupid. He wouldn't have a three year old around whenever it came to the full moon. But he owed his sister that much, to look after her son. It was a big change for Ric, especially to the people that knew him.
Alaric's hand raised from the table, running through his hair briefly as he then stretched his arms out, looking at Dahlia. He smiled, tilting his head. He made a face, his eyes rapidly looking around as if pretending to avoid eye contact to give anything away. "Uh ... uh, yeah? Yeah, totally missed you and your quicks. Yeah." he said, as if making it sound like it was just what she wanted to hear without him meaning it. He was teasing of course. He wasn't usually someone that took most things seriously. He knew when to be appropriate, but if he didn't have to be then he wasn't. Some people found that hard to deal with, not being able to get used to Ric and his constant joking around. He didn't care though. He just didn't have to waste anymore time on them that way. Alaric watched her face to see her reaction to him calling her pudgy. She would know he was kidding, well ... one would hope so. If she took it the way a lot of girls would take to being told they've put on weight, joking or not, she would end up in tears, rage and run off. That had happened to Ric once or twice. His eyes trailed down to where she grabbed at her skin, and bit his lip to stop himself from laughing. Thankfully, Dahlia understood to take it as a joke and even went along with it. Good girl. He smirked, raising an eyebrow as he looked at her. "Stunning? I dunno if I'd go that far, love." he teased. As her hand went to poke him, his body tensed before she had touched him. His body always tensed and stiffened whenever someone would go to touch him, not to make himself look tough, but when he'd been beaten by his father for so many years, his body was cautious and aware of things going on. Ric laughed. "Oh yeah, I'm really fat aye. Was hoping it wasn't noticable." he said, in a mocking worried tone.
Getting to his feet, he stepped away from the table, taking a moment to this time stretch out his whole body. He looked down at Dahlia and smirked, shaking his head. "Trying to soften him up and bribe him with candy. That's evil Dahl. To both him and me. When he goes crazy hyper, he'll be your responsibility. I'd love to see how you'd handle that." Ric laughed, holding out his hand to offer to carry her things. As much of an asshole that he was, Rick was capable of some nice gentlemanly gestures. Ric then lead her out of The Three Broomsticks, back towards Zonko's so they could travel Floo Powder style. He tended to use the Floo Network a lot more, only because his nephew seemed to love it so much for some reason. Anything to keep the toddler happy. "You'll be going straight to mine, while I go and pick Kai up. My mother is ... well, she's lovely," he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. "I don't like my mother coming around my place. She lingers, sticks her nose places she has no business to. I'll go there, grab Kai and his things and be leaving straight away. We're not on the best terms. Trust me, I wouldn't even be surprised if she didn't even know who your father was. She didn't know who Fenrir was before screwing and having his child." He said, looking around them for a moment as they made it to Zonko's. He guided her through to the back, downstairs into his office, leading her to the fireplace. "So, when you get there, you can just make yourself comfortable and I'll only be 5 minutes or so," Just as he was about to let her go, he paused, biting his lip for a moment. "I hope your not scared of dogs. Or fire. Have fun, won't be long!!" he said, telling the fireplace where to send her and dropping the powder. WORDS; 956 . TAG; DAHLIA NOTT NOTES; ^_^ <3
